2 years...

It's been two years since we got engaged. Well, two years plus 6 days since I forgot what day it was (it's April 8th by the way). He went all out and it was cool to have our families and friends surprise me afterwards--- Mom, can you believe it's been two years!? I recently packed up the banner everyone signed to take to the new place.

Some pictures from our day...

Prepping for popping the question (with my diamond ring that I love)

Aforementioned bling

Being wind blown while taking our picture with self-timer right after

The fake engagement picture from our engagement photo session

So fun to remember....

Hope to get a picture of our house to post, just keep forgetting. Hopefully everyone will come see it in person though and won't need a picture!

Saturday Trip to Houston

Finally got a chance to get away to Houston for a day... here's what we did.
Those are the flags over Ikea. This was the first time I had been to Ikea where I actually got something! Here's what we bought:
We're slowly getting things we need for our new house (closing on it April 5th). And since we were going to be in Houston anyway we figured we'd pick it up while we were down there. I was pretty excited and snapped a picture of Colin at the checkout.
The cashier asked, "is that your girlfriend?"
"My wife..." Colin told her. Stuck with me for life, buddy!
Then, onto Starbucks. We went to the one in Uptown (which is the fanciest Starbucks I've ever been to in my life) where I learned that a Cocoa Cappuccino is basically a Mocha with some foam on top. Then, onto the real reason we went to Houston.... to see the Rockets play with Megan and Cooper!
Couldn't get a good picture of Cooper and, for some reason, I didn't even think to get a picture with Megan. Oh well, maybe next time.
We had so much fun with Megan and Cooper and it really was a great game... even if the Rockets lost.

House Update

Tomorrow is our LAST day of inspection period and then we are on our way to closing...

In case you're wondering more about the house-- it's 3 bed 2 bath. It's about two miles from where I work and 2 miles from where Colin works so it's perfect! It's a grayish brown brick house in a great neighborhood.

Both of our families have already offered to help us out around the house and we've already began recruiting our friends to help us move. So watch out... you could be next.

We close 1 month from today. SO exciting. I can't believe we are going to buy a house. Are we adults or something?

Eventually... pictures to come.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today at work we passed out these Valentine's to our community (designed by these guys):

The back told our clients that their hearts are bigger than they thought because with every rent payment they make they are helping to provide housing to those in need in Africa.

Isaiah 6:1-5

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”

Going through a series on Isaiah in church. Saw this image and it made me think of Isaiah 6.
