San Antonio Trip


This past weekend Colin and I ventured to San Antonio to get away together (Colin surprised me with this trip because he knows how much I love the Riverwalk)
We stayed right on the Riverwalk, this is our view from our hotel room, we tried to get a picture of us on the balcony but the humidity got to our camera and fogged up the lens
In the spirit of tourism, and Texas of course, we toured the Alamo too
It was a great trip and we had fun just getting to hang out and not worry about work and responsibilities

On the way home, we arrived to the scene of a horrific car accident. I will spare you the tragic details but I just want to thank those of you who received my text and prayed for those effected. I am confident that the Lord brought us to the scene to pray for those involved. Colin was able to be the arms of Christ, holding the hand of a little girl who was going in and out of consciousness and comfort the driver. I was able to gain the courage to join him to lay hands on her while we prayed. Our lives will never be the same after being a part of that moment. It amazes me that God is in the fun moments of vacations and the serious, sad, seemingly hopeless moments of car accidents too. Thanks for praying and please continue to do so as I know the family is grieving the loss of their daughter. What a weekend... both good and bad. I am continually amazed at the complexity of life and how God still sustains me.

Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him." The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. Lamentations 3:22-26

7/2/10 Update: We just learned of the status for the children who survived. Please pray for healing for the 5 year old little girl and 18-month old baby boy. It is such a miracle that these two lived. Also pray for grace for the grandmother and parents of the children. Thanks so much!
