End of Week 4

2.38 miles
When I think about where I've come in the past 4 weeks I'm really proud of that number. I  think about that first week when I was trying to run a non-stop mile-- breathing felt like sharp gasps and I was doubting ever being able to run 13.1 miles. Now I still doubt slightly that I'll ever be able to run that far but I'm glad that I can actually see that I'm making progress.

I am going to try and run some 5K and 10K runs so that I'll have more short-term goals. Arise and Run thru the Woods, to name a few.

10.72 miles to go
112 days remaining until the Austin Half Marathon

If you have any advice or words of encouragement from your own training experience, I'd love to hear it. I'm hoping the first two miles are the hardest????? Maybe????

  1. Dana, I just finished my half-marathon this past weekend. Keep up the great work, you can do it! The hardest miles are in the beginning. Getting up to 5 miles was the toughest for me. Focus on long runs, those are the most important. Keep running with your friend too, having someone to share the accountability with is huge! Lastly, remember to rest, your body needs it. Congrats on the 2+ miles and keep up the great work.
